Baccarat (Macau Baccarat) Game Rules

Baccarat (Macau Baccarat)

Baccarat (Macau Baccarat) is a card game rule system originating from France, with the foreign name Baccarat, whose etymology derives from the Italian word for "zero". The rules stipulate that the table must display the minimum and maximum bet limits for each betting position, and bets must be placed in integer multiples of the minimum limit. Bets exceeding the limit are settled according to the limit (the game manager may specially permit over-limit bets, which require an additional sign for explanation). The table limit is the difference between the total bets on the Banker and the Player. The game manager may adjust the limits but must announce such changes in advance. A first bet placed below the minimum may be settled but must be accompanied by a warning; subsequent such bets are considered invalid.

The game requires players to place their bets on the Banker, Player, or Tie areas before the cards are dealt. Changing chips is prohibited after the cards are dealt. The outcome is determined by comparing the point totals of the two hands; if they are the same, it results in a Tie. The payout structure includes a basic 1:1 payout (a 5% commission is deducted on Banker wins), an 8:1 payout for Tie bets, and special bet types with differentiated payouts such as Perfect Pair (pays 50 to 1), Lucky 6 (pays up to 50 to 1), Dragon Bonus (pays up to 30 to 1), etc. All bets must be placed before the dealer announces "no more bets".

Game Betting

The betting requirements stipulated under these rules are as follows:

Betting on the "Banker" area

  • If the Banker's hand value is greater than the Player's hand value, then the Banker wins.
  • If the Banker's hand value is less than the Player's hand value, then the Banker loses.
  • If the Banker's hand value is equal to the Player's hand value, then it is a Tie.

Betting on the "Player" area

  • If the Player's hand value is greater than the Banker's hand value, then the Player wins.
  • If the Player's hand value is less than the Banker's hand value, then the Player loses.
  • If the Player's hand value is equal to the Banker's hand value, then it is a Tie.
  • When the Banker's hand value is equal to the Player's hand value, bets placed on the Tie area are winning bets.
  • When the Banker's hand value is not equal to the Player's hand value, bets placed on the Tie area are losing bets.

Game Payouts

  • Winning bets placed in the "Banker" area are paid at 1:1. However, a 5% commission is charged on the amount won, and this commission is deducted at the time of payment. (In the commission-free variation, a Banker win with a point total of 6 is an exception, paying 1:1; a win with a two-card or three-card 6 pays 1:0.5.)
  • Winning bets placed in the "Player" area are paid at 1:1.
  • Bets placed in the Tie area are paid at 8:1.
  • Bets on a Pair (i.e., the first two cards of the Banker or Player being of the same number or letter) pay 1:11.
  • Bets on a Perfect Pair (meaning the first two cards of the Banker or Player form a pair and also share the same suit) pay 1:50.
  • Bets on Lucky 6: if the Banker wins with a two-card 6, the payout is 1:22. If the Banker wins with a two-card or three-card 6, the payout is 1:50.
  • Bets on Lucky 7: if the Player wins with a three-card 7 against the Banker's 6, the payout is 1:100.
  • Bets on Dragon Bonus: a win by a natural pays 1:1; a non-natural win by 4 points pays 1:1; a non-natural win by 5 points pays 1:2; a non-natural win by 6 points pays 1:3; a non-natural win by 7 points pays 1:5; a non-natural win by 8 points pays 1:10; a non-natural win by 9 points pays 1:30; if the result is a natural tie, the stake is returned.
  • Bets on Super Tie: Super Tie (0) pays 1:150, Super Tie (1) pays 1:215, Super Tie (2) pays 1:225, Super Tie (3) pays 1:200, Super Tie (4) pays 1:120, Super Tie (5) pays 1:110, Super Tie (6) pays 1:40, Super Tie (7) pays 1:40, Super Tie (8) pays 1:80, Super Tie (9) pays 1:80.
  • Bets on Big Small: if the total number of cards dealt in that round is 5 or 6 (Big), the payout is 1:0.5. If the total number of cards dealt in that round is 4 (Small), the payout is 1:1.5.
  • Bets on Banker Odd, Banker Even, Player Odd, Player Even: in each round, after adding the point values of the Banker's and Player's cards including the third card, if the total is odd or even respectively, the payout is 1:0.95.
