On April 18, implementing the assigned tasks of the Central Steering Committee for the Commemoration of Major Holidays and Important Historical Events of the Country for the 2023-2025 period, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Central Commission for Information and Education, the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, organized domestic and international press conferences to provide information on activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, as of now, over 20 international delegations have confirmed their attendance, including 3 high-level delegations, 4 delegations at the ministerial level or higher, and representatives from more than 15 political parties across continents. Ho Chi Minh City has also received confirmations from over 20 sister localities and many foreign individuals who actively contributed to the anti-war movement against the war of aggression in Vietnam. "The participation of international delegations demonstrates their affection and enduring solidarity with Vietnam, while also highlighting the stature and profound significance of this event," emphasized Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang.

A special feature of this year's program is the first-time participation of a representative overseas Vietnamese contingent in the parade, with over 120 delegates from more than 25 countries and territories. The delegation includes not only those associated with the struggle for national independence but also a large number of exemplary young intellectuals, artists, and entrepreneurs.

Introducing the commemorative activities organized in Ho Chi Minh City on this occasion, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, stated that the National Commemoration Ceremony will be held on the morning of April 30 on Le Duan Street, District 1, and some central streets of Ho Chi Minh City. The program will be broadcast live on VTV1 - Vietnam Television, Ho Chi Minh City Television, and local Radio and Television stations.

Prior to that, on April 29, Ho Chi Minh City will organize ceremonies to offer incense and flowers in memory of heroic martyrs; and to offer incense and flowers in memory of President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang.

From April 19 to 30, a series of celebratory activities will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, including: The "Colors of Uncle Ho's City" Festival, highlighted by a 3D mapping art performance on the facade of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee headquarters, combined with light, sound, and symphony-choral music. Notably, on the evening of April 19, a performance with 2,000 unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), combined with artistic fireworks, will light up the city's sky, offering a spectacular experience for the audience.

The film exhibition "Echoes of the Great Spring 1975 Victory," featuring 300 precious archival photos, will screen community films on the evenings of April 27 and 28 at the Nguyen Hue - Ngo Duc Ke stage. The special art program "Festival of National Reunification" will be organized and broadcast live nationwide from the Reunification Hall, Ho Chi Minh City, on the evening of April 30. The outdoor art program "The Country in Complete Joy" on April 20 at the Reunification Hall; the special concert themed "Symphony of Peace" on the evening of April 21 at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater; the national-level telebridge "The Triumphal Song Resounds Forever" on April 27 at the Ho Chi Minh City bridge point; the special art program chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City on April 29 in front of the Reunification Hall...

As of now, over 600 domestic press agency reporters and 122 foreign press reporters have registered to cover activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy stated that a "Press Week" from April 25 to May 1 will be organized for foreign reporters who were war correspondents; reporters from countries that supported Vietnam during the war; and overseas Vietnamese reporters to express gratitude for their contributions and support for Vietnam during the war, while also introducing historical tours specifically for reporters.
