Unser kleiner Acker im Juli / Our small field in july

Heute möchte ich euch zeigen wie unser Feld im Juli so aussah.

die ersten Tomaten zeigen sich
die Blumen blühen wunderschön
Salat en masse
violetter Kohlrabi
es wird viel Mais geben
Juhu, die dicken Bohnen sind was geworden und reif zum Ernten!
Noch keine Zucchini in Sicht.

Wie man sieht hatten wir dieses Jahr viel Bohnen und (immer noch) reichlich Mangold. Ende Juli ging es auch mit den Zucchini los.

Leider sind alle selbst angesäten Sorten nichts geworden. Es war wohl zu heiß und wenn es dann regnete spülte es die Samen fort. Ich kann mir nämlich nicht vorstellen, dass alle Samen nicht gekeimt haben ;). So muss ich halt auf gelbe Beete und bunte Radieschen verzichten :(.

As you see we had a lot of beans and swiss chard this year (and still have). Since the end of july we harvest the zucchini.

Unfortunately none of my seeds made it. It was too hot and when it rained, it rained so much it washed the seeds away. I just can’t imagine that none of the seeds sprouted ;). So I have to pass on yellow beets and colourful radishes :(.

Schon im Frühjahr hat mich die Idee mit dem Garten angesprochen und ich will das nächstes Jahr auch machen. Ich habe dann aber gelesen, dass da viel aus dem Garten geklaut werden würde. Wie sind denn da eure Erfahrungen?

Bei uns wurde dieses Jahr bisher nichts geklaut. Letztes Jahr wurde uns mal ein Radicchio geklaut. Unser Feld ist aber auch eher abgelegen in Stuttgart (also äußerster Rand, wenig Besiedlung in unmittelbarer Nähe). Kann mir vorstellen, dass in Gegenden wo mehr Leute unterwegs sind (nahe Wohnsiedlungen, viele Spaziergänger,etc.) mehr geklaut wird. Ich würde mich davon nicht abschrecken lassen. Im Zweifelsfall ein Netz gegen Vögel drüber machen, das hilft auch gegen spontanen Mundraub ;).
