anyone elses 2012 4st sound like shaking a bag of spanners?
i have to say that everytime i fire my new 450 up i wince..it has to be the noisiest new bike i have ever heard..now i don't think it's just mine(well i bloody well hope not) as i remember trying both 450 and 500 at d3 and starting them in the showroom was even louder but they both sounded similar though i have to say the 500 was a little quieter..it seems to be clutch noise and i would think the new thinner casings maybe part of the cause as they will allow more noise to escape so has everyone elses got that massey furgesson vibe?

rob, they all sound a noisey compared to the old ones. Even peterg who bought bromptons 350 six days kept saying to me on sunday, are you sure this engine is fine because it sounds noisey, i said they all sound like that toying with the idea of a new 500 but need to ride one ideally. agreed though the chassis is mega

mark your welcome to try my 450 if like though when it's a little bit looser i will be changing gearing slightly and trying a 50 rear same as 500 as i still haven't fathomed why they chose 13/52 unless it was to try and get the 2 bikes to feel markedly different..the 500 felt slightly slower revving but with a little more stomp though they were similar in speed they just reached it in a different way i prefered the 500's deeper slower revving pull to be honest and if i could swap bikes i would but i got to thinking about resale and the fact that they developed the 450 as a whole ,then the 500 becomes an after thought as they just stroke it and whatever the effects of that are not really developed if you know what i mean..the other thing is that with only racing the shorter stroke picks upa little livelier and revs on a bit better..it also wont push quite so much in the corner and though its not a lot the extra wieght, tha
